Age Management Aesthetics Conference

Hello! I’m Jenny Major, Regenerative Medicine Center’s Medical Aesthetician, and as a twenty-something skincare professional, my first medical conference included a lot of things I expected, and some things I didn’t. For example, I assumed there would be medical terminology that would go over my head, and that I would be one of the younger attendees. Check and check.

What caught me by surprise, however, was that the room of medical professionals, with their various specialties, all had a common goal that brought them together: helping others through the use of alternative anti-aging medicine.

Topics of Interest
Hosted by the Age Management Medicine Group, several doctors took the stage to present on their findings with various treatments.

One of the first presentations was about the use of PRP (platelet rich plasma) to treat sexual incontinence and vaginal wounds. Some of the women in the case studies had been abused, and some simply had malformations. Heavy stuff for 9 a.m., but the results were impressive: a quick procedure in which PRP was injected into the area yielded healing (and even long awaited orgasms that were not attainable beforehand) for the patients. Skin and soft tissue heals rapidly after injections.

Common themes throughout the day included combination treatments using growth factors, LED light therapy, and micro-needling to treat various skin disorders such as acne and hyper-pigmentation. Slides of before and after pictures showing the results of chemical peels and micro-dermabrasion (my favorite) clicked on the screen.

The day ended with a lecture on hormone and thyroid imbalances, and how diet affects both. The question I had to ask myself was now at hand: how did all this knowledge relate back to me, and the services offered at Regenerative Medicine Center?

Bring It Home
When it comes to skin, you have to treat issues from the inside out. When you’re dehydrated, your skin will tell you with chapped lips and a tight texture. Knowing this, it’s no surprise that diet can affect the integumentary system immensely (check out the Prolon Diet and Orenda Diet and their benefits).

Also, knowing about PRP, growth factors, stem cells and chemical peels help us to understand how skin can be broken down to ultimately be rebuilt and restructured. Through healing, our largest organ in our bodies can become better than ever. This is where not only the use of DMK products come in, but also procedures such micro-dermabrasion, micro-needling and the cold laser, can help to tear down the old to make room for the new.

I’m so excited to see what the future in skincare holds, and to see my part in helping others achieve their health and skincare goals.
